Reading bonus terms before you sign up
Welcome offers look simple on a banner. The rules behind them decide whether the offer still makes sense once you open the lobby — especially if you care about slots versus live tables.
Wagering requirements
A 30× wagering rule on a £20 bonus means you must place £600 in qualifying bets before remaining bonus funds (or related winnings) can convert under that promotion. Always check whether the multiplier applies to the bonus alone or to bonus plus deposit.
Game contribution
Slots often contribute 100% toward wagering. Many live casino games contribute far less — sometimes 10% or zero. If live roulette is your main interest, a “generous” spins package can be a poor fit.
Time limits
Most UK offers expire within a set number of days. Unused spins and unfinished wagering usually vanish at the deadline. Mark the date when you opt in rather than assuming you can finish “whenever”.
Eligibility & caps
New-customer only, one per household, max cashout caps on free-spin winnings — these clauses sit in the small print. Operators listed on our homepage each publish their own current rules; ours never override theirs.
What we show on Lantern and Lace UK
On operator cards we describe welcome offers by type (match, spins, package) and attach Ad · 18+ · T&Cs apply. We avoid shouting headline figures that go stale overnight. Before you claim anything on Grosvenor, William Hill, Voodoo Dreams or the others, open the operator’s promotions page and read the full terms.
A quick check list
- Is the offer available in Great Britain under a UKGC licence?
- What is the wagering multiple, and on what amount?
- Do live games count, and at what percentage?
- How many days do you have?
- Are there max bet rules while the bonus is active?
If any answer is unclear, skip the offer. Playing with cash you understand is usually simpler than chasing a promotion you do not.
